I’ve always felt that the things we keep in our homes should tell a story—a belief born from being a young girl who enjoyed learning about history, loved looking at anything floral, pink, and green, and who found magic in the tiny painted roses on a teacup. I now collect those floral teacups. This love for the olden days has also grown into an appreciation for vintage movies where characters live at a slow, genuine pace. They feel so "complete" that watching them brings me back down to earth better than meditation ever could.

This love is reflected in Beanie & Bunn, named after my two cats who keep me company by my desk. Their contagious calm reminds me to slow down and see the love in the treasures around me. My inspiration comes from the family who shaped me: my daughter, Bella, who gave "beautiful" a whole new definition; my mother, who reminded me I could do anything; and my Aunt Claudette, who had a way of making me feel like the most important person in the room. She didn’t just tell me I was beautiful; she made me believe it by the way she truly listened to me and celebrated who I was becoming. She gifted me the prettiest floral, crystal bowl for my 13th birthday, while other girls that age were receiving trendy gadgets. I cherished that bowl, keeping it tucked away in its box for years until it finally found its place holding fruit on my own table as an adult.

I also carry the spirit of my grandmother, a force of nature who taught me to sew on her mother's antique machine. It was there that I first learned to appreciate the "soul" of soft linens. I can still feel the warmth of those holiday meals where she cooked for the entire family in her mother’s old pots, and we all ate off her vintage china. Today, the woolen goods knitted by my great-great-grandmother and the hand-sewn quilt pictured here—which my grandmother made herself—feel like a warm hug from the past, reminding me that the simple things we use every day are actually vessels for love.

I pick out every piece of vintage art, china, and linen with that same care. When you find something here, you’re helping those stories keep going and bringing that same quiet beauty into your own home. Thank you so much for visiting my little shop.

With warmth and gratitude,

Crystal, Beanie & Bunn
